Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 – Total Chaos

Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 Episode 1 has finally arrived, and it’s a rollercoaster of emotions. This 1-hour episode, adapted the story from chapters 131-134 of the manga, and it is packed with action, drama, and revelations. We see our favorite characters face new challenges and make difficult decisions as the gravity of the situation becomes more apparent.

In this review, we’ll dive deep into the episode and analyze its key moments, including what many consider to be the best chapter in the manga (chapter 131). We’ll also make predictions for what’s to come in the upcoming episodes.

Before we get started, keep in mind that this review will contain spoilers. So, if you haven’t watched the episode yet then you should go watch it first.

The episode opens up in a very horrifying way as it shows us how the rumbling is affecting the innocents in gruesome detail. The flashback in the beginning shows us that Eren never really wanted to do this, but he actually thought that he had no other choice. We see Eren apologize to an innocent little kid as he was one of the people that will eventually get caught up in the crossfire and die a meaningless death.

Relationship between Annie and Armin

While most fans might’ve overlooked this scene amid all the chaos, I really liked the short interaction between Armin and Annie in which they reach some kind of understanding. As Annie thanks him for always keeping her company, Armin confesses to her about his real feelings. Armin also talks to her about how he is not a good person himself after all the stuff he’s done.

Bold Sacrifice of Hange

With a heart-wrenching opening scene and Eren's interaction with Ymir, this episode delivered its fair share of surprises. However, the one surprise that left countless fans unprepared was the passing of Erwin's successor and one of the most remarkable soldiers in history, Hange Zoe. Hange faced thousands of Colossal Titans at once, bravely holding them off long enough for the others to escape.

A Glimpse of Hope – Shot down in an Instant

After our group of heroes from Paradis somehow manages to escape in an airship, they finally find a workable solution, kill Zeke. Levi suggests that Zeke is currently being controlled by Eren, and if they kill Zeke, then Eren won’t be able to use the power of the Rumbling as he is not of royal blood.

The group also comes to the conclusion that Eren still wants them to stop him. Armin backs this up by pointing out the fact that Eren could’ve easily taken away their titan powers, but he didn’t.

The current situation seems to be finally resolved as they see a solution, but Eren intervenes and transports them to the Path realm. There, he reveals to them that their plan will not work, leaving them perplexed. Eren makes it clear that he is not willing to take away their freedom, but he will not hesitate to eliminate anyone who tries to impede his actions. He suggests that the only solution for them is to kill him, putting an end to all the chaos.

Final Battle Commences!

At the end of the episode, the final battle between humanity and Eren finally begins as his former friends catch up to him. The episode cuts off as Armin questions Eren’s idea of freedom and peace saying, “Eren, I have another question to ask you. Once we drag you out of there, in what way are you free?”

Best Animation by MAPPA!

The anticipation for the final season of Attack on Titan has been fervent among fans, who can now rejoice with the release of season 4 part 3. It's safe to say that the wait was worth it, as MAPPA has delivered their most impressive animation yet. After part 1 received criticism for its overuse of CGI, fans were understandably cautious about what was to come. However, the studio has made remarkable strides in their animation techniques, and this is evident in the striking visuals of season 4 part 3. The characters and environments are meticulously detailed, making for a stunning viewing experience. Moreover, the action sequences are electrifying and pulse-pounding. The use of 2D animation in combination with the CGI has brought a new level of realism to the show that was previously absent. All in all, this latest installment of Attack on Titan is a triumphant achievement in anime production that fans are sure to adore.

What Will Happen Next?

The ending of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3 Episode 1 left fans feeling a bit perplexed and disappointed. While the episode did spend a lot of time building up to the final conflict, it ended in a somewhat weird way, leaving fans wondering what would come next. To add to their disappointment, the news that the second episode of the season, which is also the final episode of the entire series, would not be released until Fall 2023, was difficult to swallow.

Despite the delay, fans are excited to finally see the long-awaited conclusion of the show. The burning question on everyone's minds is how will everything end? Will our heroes ever be able to find peace, or will they die in the conflict? As an anime-only fan, the anticipation and speculation surrounding the ending is half the fun. While readers of the manga may have already found the answers to these questions, anime-only viewers can only make predictions and hope to see if their guesses come true.

One possibility that has been on the minds of many fans is whether the anime will deviate from the manga's ending and offer a unique conclusion. This is not an unprecedented move, as other anime series, such as Fullmetal Alchemist and Tokyo Ghoul, have taken this approach.

That being said, here are some theories for the conclusion of the show.

Ymir is Controlling Eren

If you’ve watched the episode closely then you might’ve noticed how Ymir just appears out of nowhere whenever we see Eren. Even When Eren calls his former friends to the Paths realm for a final discussion, Ymir is standing right there with him. There is a high chance that Ymir could be the one controlling Eren and making him do this for her.

Eren Actually Wants to Be Stopped

While Eren completely shut down the idea by Reiner that he is actually giving them a chance to stop him, it still might just be the case. If Eren really wanted to go ahead with the Rumbling without any kind of diversions, then he’d just take away all the titan powers or simply control the minds of the Eldians that are going up against him.

Eren says that he is not doing this because he doesn’t want to take away their free will. However, killing them is literally the same thing. Furthermore, Eren is someone who’d think with his head and simply do what needs to be done in order to achieve his ultimate goal.

Eren Actually Sees No Other Way

Or maybe what we are seeing on the screen is the real deal and the entire world is about to end? If Eren is actually serious about destroying almost all of humanity, then there’s actually no way to stop him.
