Haikyuu Dream Team: The strongest possible line up
The Strongest possible team doesn’t necessarily mean a team with the strongest six individuals. No, rather it’s a team where the individuals properly work together like cogs in a machine, it’s when their strengths multiply that a team can truly become strong.
It is why, “When crows flock together, they might even kill a huge white eagle.”
Well then, let’s talk about the strongest possible combination of players Haikyuu has to offer.
Setter: Kageyama Tobio
Out of all the characters in Haikyuu, Kageyama is the one who is not only introduced as a mutant prodigy but also manages to maintain that title all throughout his entire Highschool volleyball career and beyond.
He is the one whose had the most growth as a setter out of any other setter in the entire series, and taking his post Time skip development account, he is a totally different kind of monster all together.
Being able to not just adjust his sets with razor sharp accuracy to match the respective spikers but also control the natural flow of the game. Keeping all those monster strikers on a leash.
Post timeskip Kageyama Tobio is indeed the most terrifying Setter there is.
Opposite Hitter/Wing Spiker: Hinata Shoyo
Despite starting off as a middle blocker, he showed us that he has indeed become fully capable of any and all kinds of positions.
His game sense, speed, and technique have all reached their pinnacle, add that with the ridiculous stamina and Jumping power, and you get a totally different kind of hunter to begin with.
The only thing that doesn’t catch upShoyo current skillset, and physical stats, is his power.
But that’s the thing, the current Hinata is a backbone, he played the same role as Sawamura Daichi in his match against Schweiden Adlers.
So, with a setter who has known him the most, Hinata’s new and improved strength can make the team have an almost unbreakable backbone.
He will do what his captain Sawamura Daichi did for Karasuno and beyond.
A man who can be both the decoy and an Ace.
That’s what Hinata Shoyo has become.
Outside Hitter/ Wing Spiker: Bokuto Kōtarō
Out of all the National tier spikers, Bokuto was the one most difficult to manage. If it weren’t for Akaashi’s immaculate setting and thorough managing, he wouldn’t have become such a force of nature.
However, while this held him back in high school, at the tale end of the National’s tournament, the Legendary ace truly awakened, he is no longer the same double-edged sword. Not anymore.
Besides, in the past Kageyama has even commented that Bokuto has the ability to instantly analyze and assess a situation and the physical ability to immediate adapt.
So, for the newly improved Kageyama Tobio, he would be able to help Bokuto reach even greater heights.
The two of them will cause an unprecedented chemical reaction.
Middle Blocker: Hirugami Fukurō
Now here we have the older brother of the most formidable high school blocker in the entirety of Haikyuu. We are talking about Hirugami Sachiro’s older brother, the captain of ‘Schweiden Adlers’ himself, the man named Fukuro.
He is currently the most renowned Japanese Middle blocker that we know of; the experience that made him the captain of Alders and the skills to back it up, if there was ever a Middle Blocker more resolute and polished than Hirugami Sachiro, that would be him.
Be that as it may, in his match against Black Jackals, he was overshadowed by Hinata and the others since obviously, the match was mostly about showing us the sheer extent of just how much our boys have grown and improved over the years.
Outside Hitter/ Wing Spiker: Sakusa Kiyoomi
By the time he was in Second Year, Sakusa was already recognized as one of the top 3 aces in the entire nation along with third year players like Ushijima Wakatoshi and Kiryuu Wakatsu.
He is a phenomenal all-rounder who harbors extreme offensive and defensive strength in every aspect of the game. He uses his extremely flexible wrists to add a sharp spin to his technique, delivering devastating spikes and ridiculously sharp serves is all but the norm for the clean and tidy Sakusa Kiyoomi. Furthermore, he was even able to cleanly receive a spike from Ushijima Wakatoshi in his match against the Alders.
His Post time-skip development even further heightened his serving game, being able to almost destroy the ball with an insanely sharpy yet nasty spin.
If Shoyo Hinata is working as an Opposite, Kiyoomi Sakusa is by far the only player who can help maximize the potential of both ends.
Libero: Komori Motoya
Nishinoya may have quit Volleyball after high school, but the number 1 high school libero as stated by ‘Volleyball monthly’ was Itachiyama’s Komori. He was invited to be on the All-Japan Youth Training Camp.
Furthermore, he also went on to become a member of Japan National Volleyball team and participated in the 2021 Olympics.
Granted, almost all of the players from this list made it onto that team, but he became their libero along with Morisuke Yaku from Nekoma who also made it to the Japanese National team.
However, speaking in terms of potential, while Yaku was in third year, Komori was already recognized as the greatest Highschool libero as only a second year.
He has a near perfect defense when it comes to picking serves and also excels at setting.
With him as the libero, the serve defense would be extremely resolute.
So there you go guys; these were our picks for the Strongest Possible Highschool lineup.
Note that, all these positions were decided while taking the other players into account. If we use Wakatoshi as an Opposite Striker, we’ll also have to replace Sakusa with Hoshiumi. Otherwise, it’ll cause a repetition of similar skillsets (A Strong team is a collective combination of six strong individuals and their respective strengths after all)
Be that as it may, as an alternate for the Middle Blocker position, we can use Yudai; his astounding height can do numbers for the team.
Just like that, as an alternate for the Libero position, we can also use Nemoka’s Yaku.
Both Hyakuzawa Yūdai and Yaku Morisuke also made it to the Japanese National team after all.
That’s all folks.
