Bromance - 13 of the most dynamic Bros Duo in Anime

In the world of anime and manga, there are many dynamic duos, but in this post, we are specifically going to be talking about bro duos.

Hence the title, “13 of the best dynamic bro duos in anime.”

Note that these bro duos aren’t arranged in any specific order, depending on your preference, each one of them can be the best bro duo!

Well then, shall we begin?

1. Gon and Killua

Gon and Killua personify what true friendship is like. They have got excellent chemistry, and comparable potential.

They first meet during the Hunter exam, Gon is happy to see someone who is of the same age, and while Killua isn’t very open at first. It doesn’t take long before they both form an unbreakable bond of true friendship.

Their growth is congruent, and their friendship only continues to grow.

I’d say, Gon and Killua are the perfect answer to the whole “Best Dynamic Bro Duo” idea. Usually there is forced drama, but their friendship flows so naturally, you can’t help but admire them.

This duo is one of the few things, Hunter x hunter executes brilliantly.

2. Luffy and Zorro

The Pirate King, and his first mate. We are looking far ahead into the future here.

When Luffy ventured out to find crew mates, the first one he came across was Zoro. Ever since then, both of them have had tremendous respect for each other. Especially Zoro, who continues to show unreal loyalty towards his crew.

Their character dynamics work oddly well together, Luffy is aiming to be the Pirate King, and as Oda has already mentioned it himself. Zoro is based on the idea of “King of Swordsman.”

And just like Luffy is destined to be the Pirate King, Zoro is destined to become the King of Swordsman.

3. Goten and Trunks

Goku’s son and Vegeta’s son. Here we have Goten and Trunks.

Born a year apart, both of them have inherited a discreet amount of Sayain potential… by the time they were seven and eight years old, both of them were already Super Sayains.

But still, this duo is beyond just similar age and strength. Unlike Goku and Vegeta, they don’t have a complicated past, and they don’t dislike working with each other either.

They have got excellent teamwork, and their fusion “Gotenks” is a force to be reckoned with.

4. Gai and Kakashi

No other duo in Naruto is more wholesome than Gai and Kakashi.

They have always been there for each other during tough times. Gai is the practical depiction of Power of Youth, and Kakashi is kind of an introvert who usually just wants to read his favorite book. They have different personalities, but maybe that is why their rivalry or friendship goes such a long way.

They have been influencing each other since before they even joined the academy.

Over the years, their friendship and Rivalry has only continued to grow. And even after they have both become adults, they are still best friends.

Thinking about it, it’s quite unusual to see a duo like Gai and Kakashi, in a series which constantly creates Character Drama.

5. Edward and Alphonse

Two brothers who did something taboo. The incident severely changed their lives, not only did Edward lost his arm and leg, his brother Alphonse, lost his entire body. Furthermore, it also gave them PTSD.

What happened that night, or rather, what they did that night, was supposed to continue to haunt them for the rest of their lives.

But instead, they didn’t just live in fear. Both of them made the decision to find a way to get their bodies back. Their brotherly bond continued to bloom, and when they did. They finally destroyed the shackles that had been on them ever since that night.

Edward and Alphonse are more than just a duo, their significance to the main plot, and how it is resolved in the end is brilliant.

6. Saitama and Genos

Few people know of Saitama’s strength, even fewer are actually acquainted with him, and then there is Genos who was so impressed by his strength, he ended up becoming his disciple.

Now guys, this duo is more about their unusual character chemistry than it is about strength.

Saitama is literally the Symbol of strength, and the one who confirmed this was Genos himself.

Their wholesome interaction, and the comedy that follows, One Punch Man just wouldn’t have worked if it weren’t for this odd Master-Disciple relationship.

Though, that is what it appears on the surface. Saitama sees Genos more as a friend than as a disciple.

7. Simon and Kamina

The duo that does the impossible. Kamina’s aura knows no bounds. His words reek of Charisma, and his faith in his sword brother Simon goes beyond anything else.

He told Simon, “Don’t believe in yourself. Believe in me! Believe in the Kamina that believes in you.”

Simon is still just a child, but this insane amount of faith that Kamina had put in him was just enough to pull him out of his fears and turn him into a man.

Together, both of them throw logic outside the window and do the impossible.

The narrative straight up told us that when the Duo has made up their mind, they can do anything they want.

Nothing is impossible.

8. Mashiro and Takagi

Death note is still hailed as one of the main faces of anime. But the authors of death note had created another masterpiece, “Bakuman.”

It is the story of two students who make up their minds to aim for the top and become the best mangakas in Japan. These two are Mashiro and Takagi, and together they keep turning up mangas after mangas so that they can get serialized in Shounen Jump.

Mashiro does the drawings, and Takagi comes up with the stories, they can’t create anything great on their own, but when they come together, they may very well become the best manga authors in Japan.

This story is realistic, and so are the characters, which is what makes them so genuinely likeable, and their struggle for the top so interesting.

9. Erwin and Levi

If you have seen the Attack on titan OVA “No Regrets,” you already know how the way Erwin and Levi came together was through a tragedy.

Levi had lost all reason for living, but then he was given a choice and he ended up following Erwin because he saw some kind of hope in him.

Over the years, he showed almost unquestionable loyalty for Erwin. Levi found a place where he belonged, and the expeditions outside the walls continued.

Levi knows that Erwin will find a way, and then the only thing left for him is to follow through with the orders.

10. Katsura and Elizabeth

The character dynamics in Gintama are executed so well that you can point to great duos without even giving it much thought. There’s Gintoki and Katsura, Gintoki and Hijikata, Okita and Kagura, Hijikata and Okita, but that’s still just the start.

The most iconic one of them is Katsura and Elizabeth, it’s undoubtedly one of the most underappreciated duos in all of anime.

Whenever you have these two on the screen, the comedy is on steroids.

Their character chemistry works like nothing else, in fact, one should watch Gintama even if it’s just for this duo alone.

11. Hinata und Kageyama

As someone who has a natural disadvantage against taller players, Hinata’s raw jumping power and sheer reflexes can only do so much.

On the other hand, the mutant prodigy Kageyama needs a spiker who is fast and spooky enough to hit his impossible sets.

Individually, their abilities are limited, but once you put them together, their abilities multiply, and they make up a ridiculously strong duo.

And it’s not just that either, their natural tendency to compete with each other, mutual respect, all these things combined make Kageyama and Hinata such a terrifying combo.

12. Bjorn und Askeladd

Askeladd is an exceptional character, he is written with great care, his past is complex, his life is complex, and his morals are questionable, but once you start watching Vinland Saga, you’ll see what makes him such an interesting character.

And then there’s Bjorn, his one and only friend.

Not much can be said about these two, as their friendship is of just a few words. In the viking world, it is rare to see such an uncanny duo. Which makes it all the more rare in the anime world in general.

13. Itadoru und Todou

This duo is where bromance truly shines.

Itadori is a simply man, who has a simply taste in women. Todou is also a simple man, even more so than Itadori, he judges people by their taste in women.

And the moment, he hears Itadori’s answer, his mind goes in a loop, he sheds tears out of nothing as he realizes how Itadori and him were always meant to be brotherly best friends.

Their interactions are wholesome, it is refreshing to see a duo this simple, and yet so captivating.

There you go guys, these were 13 of the best dynamic duos in anime.

That were some of the best Anime Bros ever. Let us know if we missed anyone and we will add them when we make another list of more Bros.

That’s all folks!
